Weddings

Talk about hiking the odds on failure! Here's the scenario: take two families who many times hardly know each other. Their kids tell them they need a major portion of their yearly income to throw a party where each side is going to invite a bunch of people the other side doesn't know or much care if they ever know. Watch mom and/or dad dig so deep into their pockets they tickle their feet (note: they are not laughing - and they always laugh when you tickle their feet!) Then listen to all the questions including: "why do we need nuts on the tables? We're already serving them $1,500 worth of hors d'oeuvres." To "what do you mean we have to spend $30 each on an invitation - can't we just call them up?" Then you find out that your brother (your kids' favorite uncle) has gone into bankruptcy and in order to have your daughter's favorite uncle at her wedding, you're going to have to pay to fly the whole family out and put them up - in a really nice place, of course!

Somewhere in the midst of all this fun, someone remembers "hey, we need to hire a photographer!" To capture the day that takes at least a 1000 hours to plan, if everyone was calm and thinking, a level headed person would say "we need someone who not only understands cameras and film, but more importantly, someone who understands and is sensitive to peoples' needs and hopes.

I CAN DO THIS- MICHAEL 1998
